Bona Law’s Steve Cernak is the New Chair of ABA Antitrust Law Section
August 6, 2024
Bona Law partner Steve Cernak has been named Chair of the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section for the 2024-25 Section year. The Section is the world’s leading community of antitrust, consumer protection, and data privacy professionals. As Chair, Cernak will oversee the more than 700 Section volunteer lawyers, economists, academics, and enforcers who this year will produce hundreds of articles, webinars, and podcasts, plus in-person CLE programs on six continents. His work includes oversight of the Section’s annual Spring Meeting, April 2-4, 2025, which last year drew more than 4000 antitrust professionals to Washington, D.C.
“Since joining Section leadership in 1996, I’ve gotten to know and admire the best antitrust and consumer protection professionals from around the globe,” Cernak explained. “Leading this premier antitrust organization, especially now during the resurgence in global interest in competition law, is the thrill of a professional lifetime.”
Two other Bona Law attorneys will be joining Cernak in Antitrust Law Section leadership. Attorney Kristen Harris was selected to be Counsel to the Section Chair, a position where she will interact with the top antitrust professionals from around the globe. Partner Luis Blanquez will serve as Vice-Chair of the Section’s Distribution and Franchise Committee, where he will continue to produce content related to the antitrust issues raised by the global distribution of goods and services.
